OVERVIEW

The Mukwonago Girls Basketball Club Basketball League (MGBCBL) is a developmental youth basketball league for girls that are in the 3rd and 4th grades.  Teams may be made up of any combination of 3rd and 4th grade girls (i.e. – all 3rd grade, all 4th grade, or a combination of 3rd and 4th grade).  The number of teams is dependent on facilities availability and the quantity of teams requesting to be in the league.  The MGBCBL was made up of 48 teams for the 2023-24 season, with the teams listed below by division.

Teams who participated in the prior MGBCBL season have priority to return to the league for the upcoming season.  Once a team is in the MGBCBL, the league organizers typically do not remove that team from the league unless it is requested upon by the team itself, the team does not submit the necessary registration/payment by the required due date, unforeseen issues arise, or prior discussions take place.

Each season we receive several requests to fill open spots and/or create new spots for the league.  When these spots become available, they are filled in the order in which the requests were received.  In years past, spots have become available as some participating clubs see fluctuations in their player registrations from year-to-year and are not always able to field the same number of teams as in the previous season.  Since we are unable to predict how many spots will become available, we have not committed or guaranteed open/new spots in the league.  We ask all interested clubs/teams to please register.  After the registration deadline, we will do our best to put together a schedule that satisfies as many of these requests as possible.  If there are any requests that we are unable to accommodate, we will let you know as soon as possible and issue a full refund.

 

All registration and payments for the 2024-25 season are completed online.  The only two available payment options are credit card and ACH payment.  As in previous seasons, we are using the services of TeamSnap to facilitate registration, payments, league scheduling, and league management.  The league fee is $1050 per team and the registration deadline is Sunday, September 29, 2024.

The MGBCBL is split into two divisions (i.e. – Blue and Gold).  The intent is to maintain the developmental concept, while trying to place teams into a division that is more competitive and better suited with the respective team’s experience and level of play.  To make this a success, we rely on the registering team to properly/fairly determine if their team should be in the blue or gold divisions.  In some instances, teams may be asked to switch divisions to balance a schedule and/or to work within facility availability.

 

1. Blue Division
   1. This division is geared towards teams that are primarily made up of players that have already participated in some type of competitive basketball (typically new or returning 4th graders).
   2. Rule Difference:  Defense may pick up at half-court the entire game.
2.  Gold Division
   1. This division is geared towards teams that are primarily made up of players that are new to competitive basketball (typically 3rd graders and occasionally new 4th graders).
   2. Rule Difference:  Defense must not defend beyond the 3-point arc until the last 2 minutes of the game. Defense may pick up at half-court the last 2 minutes of the game.

 

A league schedule will be generated, posted online, and emailed after all the registration, waivers, payments are received.   All games will be played at Mukwonago High School (605 W Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI 53149).  Each team will be scheduled to play 16 games per season, playing 2 games per-day on each of the dates listed below.

This is a highly sought-after league and rescheduling of games is not allowed.  Please do not book outside tournaments until the MGBCBL schedule is finalized.
